Where Elevator Doors Must Stop Smoke (Infographic)

We created the infographic below to explain to and educate the architectural community about where elevator doors must stop smoke within a multi-story building. As you may know, smoke from a fire can migrate via the elevator shaft and quickly spread throughout a building, resulting in more harm to occupants than the actual fire. For this reason, building designers must incorporate elevator shaft smoke protection to satisfy code requirements and safe-guard building occupants.

We hope this infographic will make things clear and be a good reference/resource for you in the future. Feel free to share the infographic via a link to this page or by downloading the PDF below.
